The Copa América is the main men's football tournament contested among national teams from the South American Football Confederation. From 1916 until 1967, the tournament was called the South American Championship and it was played in a round-robin format. Since 1975, a final series is played, and for the first three years games were played on a home-and-away basis.
Here is the list of all winners of the tournament since the first in 1916. With their win in 2024 Argentina have have the record of the most titles with 16. Next is Uruguay with 15 wins. Brazil is the only other country with a significant number of wins (9).
