The 1923 Copa América was held in Uruguay. It was the 7th edition of the tournament.
The tournament saw the participation of the four CONMEBOL nations—Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay.
The event followed a round-robin format where each team played against the others, and Uruguay emerged as the winner by topping the standings, securing their fourth Copa América title.

- At the time the tournament was named the South American Championship. It was not called the Copa América until after 1967.
