The 1927 Copa América was held in Peru. It was the 11th edition of the tournament.
There were four teams participating. These teams were:
- Argentina
- Bolivia
- Peru (hosts)
- Uruguay
The tournament followed a round-robin format where each team played against every other team once. The team with the most points at the end of the matches was declared the winner.
Argentina finished on top of the standings and won the 1927 Copa América. They secured their second Copa América title by winning all their matches in the tournament.
Trivia
- At the time the tournament was named the South American Championship. It was not called the Copa América until after 1967.
- The 1927 Copa América marked Peru’s debut in the tournament. It was also their first major international football competition.
