The 1999 Copa América was held in Paraguay. It was the 39th edition of the tournament. There were 12 teams(10 CONMEBOL teams and 2 invited teams). Invited Teams: Japan and Mexico.
Brazil won the tournament, beating Uruguay 3-0 in the final, claiming their sixth Copa América title. This marked Brazil's second consecutive title win, having won in 1997 as well.
