The 2004 Copa América was held in Peru. It was the 41st edition of the tournament.
The tournament saw the participation of the ten CONMEBOL nations—Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela—along with invited teams Mexico and Costa Rica.
In the final, Brazil emerged victorious by defeating Argentina 4-2 on penalties after a 2-2 draw, clinching their seventh Copa América title.
