The 1957 Copa América was held in Peru. It was the 25th edition of the tournament.
The tournament saw the participation of seven CONMEBOL nations—Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Uruguay.
The event was conducted in a round-robin format where each team played against the others once, and Argentina emerged as the winner by finishing at the top of the standings, securing their tenth Copa América title.
Trivia
- At the time the tournament was named the South American Championship. It was not called the Copa América until after 1967.
