2020 World Sporting Event Calendar
Here is a list of the major sporting events that were held in the year 2020. Due to COVID-19 there was major upheaval on this sporting calendar, with many major events canceled or postponed. Also note that not every sporting event can be listed here, though we have tried to include all the big sporting events of the major sports, mostly the international senior competitions.
Major events that were still held this calendar year included the ICC World T20 Cricket tournament for women, Winter X Games, the Winter Youth Olympics, World Cycling Track Championships, the IWAS World Games as well as many annual events (albeit often postponed). Many of the scheduled events were postponed until 2021, such as the Tokyo Summer Olympics, Invictus Games, and the Euro 2020 Football tournament.
