Fast-Pitch Softball

Fast pitch is the competitive version of the popular sport of softball, that is played mostly by women all around the globe. In fast-pitch softball, the pitcher's arm rotates 360 degrees around the shoulder until the ball is released from the hand.

Fast pitch is the most recognized and competitive form of softball. It is also considered one of the popular sports played in the US during the era of 1930s and 1940s.

There are three styles of softball - fast pitch, "modified" fast pitch, and slow pitch. Fast pitch is the version that was played in the Olympic Games of 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2021.

Fast pitch softball requires a high level of accuracy to be played in an effective manner. You can effortlessly attain accurate pitch by using various techniques. The pitch usually starts from the grip and ends with a follow through after the ball is released from the hands of the pitcher. Accurate pitching requires accuracy skills in six different areas, which are the grip, windup, stance, release and follow through.
