Bogut is Top Paid Australian Sportsman for 2014

Here are the top earning Australian sports people for the year 2014, as published by the Business Review Weekly (BRW). Only the top 10 of their "Top 50 Sports Earners" list is shown. The list is compiled by BRW journalists and includes gross wages, prize money, sponsorships and endorsements. See other BRW Top Earners from other years, and also how these compare to the international top earner lists.



Basketball player Andrew Bogut again topped the list, as he has done since 2011. Bogut made $16.2 million in 2014 playing for NBA team the Golden State Warriors. Second on the list was golfer Adam Scott, his earnings boosted by good sponsorship deals. Cricket players have moved up in overall earnings, with thirteen cricketers in the top 50, led by all-rounder Shane Watson at 8th with $4.5 million.

The US is the place to be for Aussie sports stars, with the top seven athletes on the list predominantly earning their income in the USA.

Only two women made the top 50 sports, surfer Stephanie Gilmore was in 39th place with $1.75 million earnings and golfer Karrie Webb scraping in at 50th with $1.28 million.
