Here are the top earning Australian sports people for the year 2011, as published by the Business Review Weekly (BRW) magazine. Just the top 10 of their "Top 50 Sports Earners" list is shown. The list is compiled by BRW journalists and includes gross wages, prize money, sponsorships and endorsements. Andrew Bogut is the first basketballer to top the list (he was second in 2009 and 2010). He was the 2005 NBA No.1 draft pick and streaks to the top of the list due to his huge deal with the Milwaukee Bucks. Cricketers were highly featured on the top 50, with the highest ranked being Shane Watson at 11 with earnings of $4 million for 2011. Two females made the top 50, US tennis Open winner Sam Stosur and four-time surfing world champion Stephanie Gilmore.
