Ecuavóley is a variant of volleyball invented and played in Ecuador, like volleyball though the net is higher and it is played by teams of three. It is popular in Ecuador, where is was invented, though it is gaining popularity in Colombia, and parts of the United States and Europe.
The net for the sport of ecuavoley is 2.80 meters high, compared to a volleyball net that is set to 2.43 m high. Each team is made up of three players, the setter, the flyer, and the server. Instead of a volleyabll, a soccer ball is used. Also, the ball can be held each time it is received, as long as the holding lasts less than one second.
