Women's Soccer World Cup France 2019
The 8th FIFA Women's World Cup was held in France, the first time France had hosted the event. Only two countries bid for hosting rights, France and South Korea.
The event was held from June 7 until July 7, 2019. Matches were played in nine cities across France. France, as host country, was an automatic qualifier for the tournament. The United States were the defending champions, and won their fourth title, defeating The Netherlands 2-0 in the final.

- AFC: Australia, China, Japan, South Korea, Thailand.
- CAF: Cameroon, Nigeria, South Africa.
- CONCACAF: Canada, Jamaica, United States.
- CONMEBOL: Argentina, Brazil, Chile.
- OFC: New Zealand.
- UEFA: England, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Scotland, Spain, Sweden.
Trivia
- Chile, Jamaica, Scotland, and South Africa made their Women's World Cup debuts
- Italy took part in the event for the first time since 1999 and Argentina took part for the first time since 2007.
- Brazil, Germany, Japan, Nigeria, Norway, Sweden, and the United States qualified for their eighth World Cup, continuing their streak of qualifying for every World Cup held so far.
- The USA recorded the biggest ever Women's World Cup victory, beating Thailand 13-0. The score line is the biggest ever in a Women's World Cup, eclipsing Germany's 11-0 thumping of Argentina in 2007.
- It is the first Women's World Cup to use the video assistant referee (VAR) system.
