Paraguay at the World Cup

The Paraguay team, known as the "Guaraníes", was one of the 13 teams in the inaugural World Cup in 1930. They have appeared at the World Cup eight times, the last in 2010.

In their first world Cup in 1930, one victory and one defeat was not enough to qualify for the semi-finals. In 1950 and 1958, Paraguay failed to progress from the qualifying group. Their best performances have been reaching the second round in 1986, 1998 and 2002, and reaching the Quarter-finals in 2010.
