Top Australian Sports Earners for 2016
We have not been able to find a list of the top earning Australian sportspeople for the year 2016. The last such list published by BRW was in 2014. In 2017 the Australian Financial Review published the Top-50 Sports Earners list, maybe for the first time.
The top earner for 2016 may have been Australian golfer, and world number 1, Jason Day. With earnings of USD 23.6 million he was 69th on the annual list “The World's 100 Highest-Paid Athletes” published by Forbes magazine in June 2016.
We have not seen the complete list, so there may be other Australian athletes on that list.
