The New Zealand Army requires new recruits to undergo fitness assessments as part of the recruitment process. Below is some information about the fitness requirements and standards. This information is presented for discussion - for up to date information see official sources.
Assessment Tests
To obtain a G1 pass, NZ Army personnel are required to pass the following tests:
- full Press Ups (30 for men, 15 for women)
- Curl Ups (60 for men, 55 for women)
- run of 2.4 kms (less than 10:00 mins for men, 11:50 for women)
There are graduating scales working progressively downwards depending upon your age to gain a lesser G2 pass.
