Major League Soccer Combine 2014

The 2014 MLS Player Combine was held in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida from January 10-14. Over 50 players participated in the Combine. University of Louisville midfielder Marlon Hairston stood out as one of the most impressive athletes, finishing in the top 10 for all three tests.

Speed Test (30-meter dash)

The average sprint time was 4.19 seconds. The leader Peay is ranked above Gabeljic due to a better 10-meter split time.

Power Test (vertical jump)

The group average was 16.7 inches, which is much lower than expected for a vertical jump test. The test is listed as "Vertical - Opta Jump". It is obviously a different technique or measurement system which results in lower scores, and makes comparison to other years difficult.
