Super Bowl XLV was the 45th Super Bowl in American football. The game was played on February 6, 2011 at the Dallas Cowboys New Stadium in Arlington, Texas. This was the third time that the Super Bowl was held in Texas (Houston was the host city to Super Bowls VIII and XXXVIII), though it was only the first time that it was held in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area.
The Green Bay Packers defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers with a score of 31-25. Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers was named the Super Bowl MVP after throwing for 304 yards and three touchdowns. This was the Packers' fourth Super Bowl victory and their first since Super Bowl XXXI in 1996. The game was watched by over 111 million viewers, making it one of the most-watched television events in history. In the US, the game was televised nationally by FOX, and in Canada by CTV.
The next Super Bowl was played in Indianapolis 2012.
