Basketball at the Commonwealth Games
Basketball is a fast, non-contact indoor team sport. It is is a popular sport within the Commonwealth. Basketball was on the sports program for 2006, and again on the program for 2018 onwards.
In 2022, 3x3 basketball replaced the regular 5-a-side full-court basketball on the program. A 3x3 Wheelchair basketball event was also added.

- Basketball appeared for the first time in a Commonwealth Games program in Melbourne 2006.
- In 2006 in Melbourne, Australia won the first-ever Commonwealth Games Gold Medals in both the men's and women's competitions.
- 3x3 basketball replaced the regular full-court basketball on the program in 2022.
