Australian Rowing at the Olympics
Australia has a rich history in rowing at the Olympic Games, with numerous medals won across different Olympiads. The “Oarsome Foursome,” a coxless four rowing team, became national heroes after winning gold at the 1992 and 1996 Olympics. The tradition of rowing excellence continues, with Australia regularly featuring on the podium.

- Sydney Middleton is one of the few athletes to compete at the Olympics in two different sports: Rugby in 1908 and Rowing in 1912.
- In a rowing quarter-final at the 1928 Amsterdam games, Australia's Henry Pearce stopped rowing to allow a family of ducks to pass safely in front of his boat. He still won the heat and took gold in the final.
