Beaver Stadium, located at University Park, Pennsylvania, is an American Football stadium that belongs to Pennsylvania State University, which mainly hosts games for the Penn State Nittany Lions. There has been a stadium at the current location since 1960, and since then has undergone a number of expansions. It is named after a former governor of Pennsylvania James A. Beaver.
Beaver stadium has an official seating capacity of 106,572, which is the second biggest in the United States behind Michigan Stadium, and the fourth biggest in the world. The record crowd is 110,889 for a game between Penn State and Ohio State on September 29, 2018.
The stadium is primarily used for playing college football games. Pennsylvania State University Nittany Lions host all their home games in this stadium. There are several games played in the stadium that has far exceeded the 110,000 mark, and it is very common to see crowds that exceed the official capacity.
The "White Out", later renamed to "White House", is a successful tradition at the Beaver Stadium in which almost all fans wear a white shirt to the game creating a sea of white. It has happened twice, in 2004 against Ohio State and again in 2007 against Illinois.
The stadium also made headlines for being the first-ever to have its interiors included in Google's Street View.
