Sochi Winter Olympics Venues
The Winter Olympic Games in 2014 was organized within two clusters, a coastal cluster in Sochi and a mountain cluster about 50 kilometers (30 miles) away in the alpine region Krasnaya Polyana. Most of the venues were newly built for the Games.
Sochi Venues
In addition to the Main Olympic village and the international broadcasting center and main press-room, the following sporting venues were located in the Sochi area. The Sochi Olympic Stadium seated 69,000 spectators.
- Ice Hockey — Bolshoi Ice Palace (2,000 spectators) and Maly Ice Palace (7,000 spectators).
- Speed skating — Sochi Olympic Oval (8,000 spectators).
- Figure skating and short track speed skating — Sochi Olympic Skating Centre (12,000 spectators).
- Curling — Sochi Olympic Curling Centre (3,000 spectators).

Krasnaya Polyana Venues
There was an additional Olympic Athlete Village in the Krasnaya Polyana area, and the following sporting venues
- Biathlon, Cross-country skiing and Nordic combined — Biathlon & Ski Complex.
- Freestyle skiing and Snowboarding — Freestyle Skiing and Snowboard Park.
- Alpine skiing — Rosa Khutor Alpine Resort.
- Bobsleigh, Luge and Skeleton — Russian National Sliding Centre.
- Ski jumping and Nordic combined — Russian National Ski Jumping Centre.
