The 1984 Super Bowl, officially known as Super Bowl XVIII, was played on January 22, 1984 at the Tampa Stadium in Tampa, Florida. This game saw the Los Angeles Raiders defeat the Washington Redskins by a score of 38-9.
The Raiders dominated the game, with running back Marcus Allen rushing for a then-Super Bowl record of 191 yards and two touchdowns to earn the MVP award. Los Angeles' defense was also strong, holding the Redskins to just 9 points and forcing five turnovers. This was the third Super Bowl win for the Los Angeles Raiders.
The national anthem was performed by the famous tenor, Plácido Domingo.
