France at the Euros
France's men's national football team has qualified for the UEFA European Championship (the Euros) 11 times (including 2024) - 1960, 1984, and all tournaments since 1992.
Their best performance is winning in 1984 and 2000.
France's Record at the Euros
- 1960: Fourth
- 1984: Champion - Hosted the tournament and won their first title, defeating Spain in the final.
- 1992: Group stage.
- 1996: Semi-finals - Lost to Czech Republic in penalties.
- 2000: Champion - France won their second European Championship, defeating Italy in the final through a golden goal.
- 2004: Quarter-finals.
- 2008: Group stage.
- 2012: Quarter-finals.
- 2016: Runner-up - Lost to Portugal in the final.
- 2020: Round of 16.
- 2024: France has again qualified for Euro 2024, and have reached the semi-finals.
Trivia
- The record for the most goals at a single tournament is nine by Frenchman Michel Platini in 1984, which he achieved in five games.
