The All-Africa University Games is a multi-sport event for university students, organisized by the Federation of African University Sport, FASU (Federation du Africaine Sport Universitaire). These University Games for students from the continent of Africa were first held in Accra, Ghana in 1974 then in Nairobi, Kenya in 1978. The planned event in 1982 to be held in Lusaka, Zambia, was canceled. The games were not held again for another 16 years when Nigeria held the games in Bauchi in 2004.
