Hosts of the World Boxing Championships
The World Boxing Championship, organized by the International Boxing Association (IBA), is a biennial amateur boxing competition, formerly known as the World Amateur Boxing Championship. The first event, for men only, was held in Havana Cuba in 1974. A woman's event was first held in 2001. The competitions are held every two years, usually with the men’s and women’s event occurring in alternating years.
